Runchat Updates: January 13, 2026
New code node AI features, global asset search, improved image editing, and streamlined model settings.
💻 CODE NODE ENTERS THE MODERN ERA
- The code node has been updated to make it easier to "vibe code" connections to other apps
- UI improved to show full screen chat (vibe coding), only code or side-by side views
- Chat history is saved and can be restored
- Chat responses are rendered with markdown
- Chat will recommend parameters that your code might need and add them for you
- Chat will help you add any api keys required for your code to run
- Code node now supports fetch() to work with external apis
- The Fetch node also supports automatically filling in parameters from urls
🖼️ SEARCH ASSETS IN THE MENU
- You can now search for all assets you've created in any workflow, right in the menu. This makes it easier to re-use generated images and prompts
- If you have a node selected, it will show you assets that have previously been generated with that node (history)
- You can expand the height of the menu to browser more assets
🐇 IMAGE EDITOR IMPROVEMENTS
- you can now enter multiline text and resize text boxes
- resizing and moving pasted images is a lot faster
⚒️ MODEL SETTINGS RETURN TO THE SETTINGS BAR
- These have been simplified and moved to the settings bar (out of the side bar)
- This makes it easier to quickly tweak and configure installed models
- It's also clearer how to convert a setting to an input parameter
🧩 PUBLIC TEMPLATES
- Every time you publish a template it is available for you to use in your workflows
- You can publish private templates
- We also review public templates for security and accepted templates are then searchable and usable by everyone working with Runchat
As usual we've also made many small tweaks to fix bugs and improve our UI.
There is lots to try - let us know if you run into issues or have ideas for what you would like us to work on next!
