Runchat Updates: August 11, 2026

We've released Clipchat, a new Runchat plugin for automatically editing screen recordings. Clipchat records your screen, transcribes your audio, labels clips and provides a suite of editing tools for the agent to use to cut together videos in any format. Instead of using conventional video editing GUI, Clipchat is designed to edit from your spoken instructions made while you record. This means if you fluff a line or want to a specific edit you can just say so and keep recording. You can create and publish multiple video edits with a single click using auto edit mode, making it very easy to create tutorials, explainers, and staff onboarding videos while you complete normal work. Clipchat also works via MCP so you can use claude for more interactive and refined editing, or with the Runchat agent for creating quick specific edits or splicing in content you create on the runchat canvas.  Clipchat is currently in a very early beta for both Windows and macOS from https://clipchat.app

We now support multiple plugin clients, allowing the agent to target specific open documents (like a specific Rhino file) rather than broadcasting to all of them.

✨ STREAMLINED CHAT EXPERIENCE

We've simplified the chat UI by removing timestamps and unnecessary chevrons to keep the focus on your work. Improved visual feedback: replaced static icons with flashing text while skills are running and hidden scrollbars when not in use.We've done hundreds of simulated runs of the Runchat agent using different language models across a range of common tasks and have found that GPT 5.6 Luna is sufficiently capable at just about all tasks to become the new default model. We have removed the cost / balanced / quality tiers in onboarding and you can now just set a reasoning effort level for the Luna model.  For more complex tasks onboarding recommends using the MCP. 

🛠️ IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES

Improved video routing: if no image is provided, seedance flows will now automatically route from text-to-video. Fixed a crash issue occurring in Revit 2025. Updated the Rhino plugin for better stability and performance.
